LA CHEVAUCHÉE DU TIGRE
The Earth, wrathful goddess, walks in the streets of Thebes under the guise of a disease. The disease is spreading and the elderly are most at risk. To protect the population, Jupiter, the leader of the city, proclaimed martial law and general confinement. Doctors are requisitioned to take care of the powerful people. As for the rest of the population, they must stay home and hope for better days. Yet, in the depths of Thebes, little Juliette cannot bring herself to leave her grandmother without care. Armed with her courage and accompanied by her plush tiger, Datuk, she embarks on the insane quest for a cure. Her adventure will lead her to challenge the established order, to confront the gods and the powerful, and to look at the world differently.
“La chevauchée du tigre” is a fantastic and initiatory tale borrowing as much from myths and legends as from our contemporary society. Through the story of Juliette and Datuk, the show invites us to look at the inequalities of our society, our relationship to nature, our perception of old age and death.
