INCARCERATING   EVE

TOURING: 2ND FEBURARY-21ST MARCH 2026

‘Incarcerating Eve’ is a story of our time, which explores the impacts of female incarceration and

disempowerment upon society throughout history to the present day. We tell the story of Eve as Everywoman, where, after years of being silenced, Eve helps us to understand why and how, and to reveal the lies societies have been fed by religion and politics. It is time to understand who controls the narrative and what truth got buried, to reveal why and what happened to suppress the feminine principle about spirituality, about wisdom, about leadership.

From the UK, to the Americas, to Africa, women and girls face forms of violence and discrimination in every society, whether it’s domestic abuse, sexual violence, female genital mutilation or psychological violence. 1 in 3 women around the world experience violence against them.

We are living in a militarised masculine world. After 2000 years of patriarchy, the time is now to empower young people, especially young women, to tell their stories. ‘Incarcerating Eve’ connects ‘herstory’, lost to us, knowledge that anthropologists uncovered, the wisdom known by indigenous communities, that in the earliest of times, there were always Gods and Goddesses, the divine feminine and masculine energies in balance. By connecting this with Eve’s stories of today, the play asks what needs to change for us to create a world that respects Mother Earth and chooses love and kindness over violence and war.
