Mandala contributes to Ox Uni research seminar

Mandala has been invited to speak at a seminar organised by TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in Humanities) about how it has been working during the past year with research from the Department of Social Policy, as well as with young people seeking asylum. This work has resulted in the creation of our new play Night Light.

The play explores Post 18 migration. This is where young people who have come to the UK as lone minors at age 11 or 12 years – often from war torn countries – have been educated and spent their formative years in the UK and then, at age 18, are deported back to their country of birth, often with no family or community to return to. With their sense of belonging now firmly rooted in the UK, we explore the effects on these young people and the actions they are often forced to take.

The seminar is open to all. If you are interested in coming along, find out more at TORCH.
