Collector of Tears is an epic love story for our times. Tanya is an outcast, hunted by those who misunderstand her, unable to age until she has cried, she must collect the tears of others in glass bottles down through the centuries – and through her stories bear witness to the pain and suffering of people, until the day when she finally stands up to be counted. And learns how to cry.

Adapted from the original play by sean burn. The play will be performed by a cast of ten young actors, aged 17-25, many from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, who use physical theatre to comment on the world they have inherited.

Collector of Tears is part of Offbeat,  a festival in Oxford of brand-new theatre, comedy, dance, family shows, spoken word and music. Offbeat is a collaboration between Oxford Playhouse, and Arts at the Old Fire Station.
